Students who are obtaining a PhD in Health Services Research in Pharmacy must meet specific degree requirements per UW Graduate School policy. These include a minimum of (a) 51 total graduate degree credits and (b) 32 residence credits earned while enrolled at UW-Madison. The actual program requirements are available in the Guide.
Within the HSRP program, the degree requirements include:
- HSRP Core Courses (14 Credits)
- Research Methods Courses (minimum of 6 credits)
- Analytical Technique Courses (minimum of 9 credits)
- Specialty/Advanced Coursework (minimum of 22 credits)
- PhD Minor Courses (minimum of 9 credits)
- Non-minor Courses (minimum of 13 credits)
Student also will have a varying level of PhD research credits.
The selection of courses for Research Methods, Analytical Techniques, and Non-Minor Courses should be determined by the graduate student and their advisor.
