Admission to both programs is for fall entrance only.

  • Application process can begin while prerequisite courses are in progress but they will need to be completed prior to the your PharmTox or PharmD program entrance (fall).
  • The PharmTox application typically opens in October and the deadline is early February. Admission decisions are typically made by late Feb/early March.
  • The PharmD application process uses a “rolling” structure with the application opening in mid-July and a deadline of early March. The majority of admission decisions are made between October and April, however, a small waitlist is maintained.
  • It is important to note that GPA is not the sole criterion we use for admissions. Also, an applicant’s GPA can have different meanings. The admissions committees for BOTH programs review trends in grades, combination of courses taken per  semester, total credit load per semester, and, for the PharmD program, compares grades to PCAT scores. Our programs do not have explicit minimum GPA requirements. The GPA range for the admitted students is typically in the 2.8 – 4.0 range with the average GPA being a 3.5.

A first-year pre-pharmacy plan often includes the courses listed below, HOWEVER, there is no “one size fits all” template as students will begin in varying levels of math and science coursework based upon placement scores, interests, and credits earned in HS or another college.

  • Math
  • Chemistry
  • Communication A
  • Social Science, humanities, ethnic studies, language
  • Pharmacy and You FIG (Pharmacy 125, Chemistry 103 or 109 and Anthropology 104 or Pharmacy Practice 305) plus 1-2 additional courses from above or for a parallel plan.
