Organizations which sponsor activities involving drawing or handling blood or other bodily fluids may be at risk for acquiring or spreading certain communicable diseases. All students engaging in activities that may involve exposure to communicable diseases must take appropriate precautions (e.g., gloves, hepatitis immunizations, etc.). Organizations should work closely with the sponsoring agency’s professional staff (i.e. American Red Cross) to ensure proper precautions are taken and facility/resources are appropriate.
