The School of Pharmacy does not have a universal attendance policy, however students are expected to fully participate in all course and laboratory activities. Please refer to your course syllabi for specific course attendance requirements. It is the responsibility of each student to know the class attendance and absence policies of their course professors/instructors. If a student finds it necessary to be absent from a class or exam due to illness or emergency situation, it is the student’s responsibility to notify the professor/instructor. It is preferable that the notice be communicated as soon as possible. Make-up procedures are at the discretion of each professor/instructor. If a more extended absence is anticipated or required or a student is unable to reach the course professor/instructor, the student should contact their academic advisor.
If a student desires to be absent from class for a religious holiday or observation, the student must notify the professor/instructor within the first two weeks of class of the specific dates on which he/she will be absent. According to university policy, faculty are encouraged not to schedule examinations or other academic requirements on commonly recognized religious holidays. For further information about the university’s policy regarding conflicts between mandatory academic requirements and religious observances, consult the Secretary of the Faculty.
