Organizations which sponsor projects involving drawing or handling blood or handling other bodily fluids may be at risk for acquiring or spreading certain communicable diseases. It is imperative that students (or organizations) engaging in such activities take appropriate precautions (e.g., gloves, hepatitis immunizations, etc.). Students are asked to work closely with the sponsoring agency’s professional staff (i.e. American Red Cross) to ensure proper precautions are taken and facility/resources are appropriate.
