Residency

Upon completion of a PharmD degree, graduates can pursue additional training with a clinical focus – residency. Training is 1-2 years in length – the first year offers generalized training, providing residents exposure to a broad range of clinical scenarios and the second year focuses on a specific are of interest and leads to specialization in that field.

Residency Program: 65%; Employment with pharmacy: 30%; Other/Lost to followup: 5%.About 98% of UW–Madison PharmD graduates obtain employment or a residency within 180 days of graduation. In addition, our graduates have a high residency match rate at 100% and the majority of graduates who pursue residencies match with their first choice programs.
